Exercise and Other Things I Don’t Do

Yesterday I worked out for the first time in…longer than I’m willing to admit, and good grief am I sore. Like stiff-legged, anything that falls in the floor will stay there kind of sore. Working out is definitely one of the things I thought I would make more time for while we’re still largely self-isolating but I’m now reinvested in making more time for it because despite the soreness, getting my body moving again felt amazing.

I semi-jokingly say that having a baby was my quarantine activity. My son was born in April and I’m not sure if this is common knowledge but taking care of a baby kind of put a dent in my free time. I’ve still found a little time to work on some crafts and obviously I’ve started blogging, mainly writing bits and pieces while the baby is asleep. Truth be told I don’t usually stay up much later than the baby some nights (my husband would say most nights) so I just don’t have the energy for my own projects by the end of the day.

Did anyone else start or rediscover hobbies during quarantine? Are you still doing them? What’s something you thought you would do but haven’t?

  1. I’m right there with you! I haven’t exercised in a lonnnng time, and I’m recently getting back into it. I actually picked up blogging during quarantine, and I’ve been having so much fun with it!

  2. I seriously lol-ed at the little cartoon at the bottom! I’ve tried to do some home projects, but haven’t been so great at keeping motivated. Hmm.

  3. Oh man, I definitely feel you on having not exercised in awhile. And then whenever I decide it’s a good idea, I am totally sore. It doesn’t work well with my quarantine activity of constantly baking either!
